KWC opens football season with win

Kentucky Wesleyan College opened its football season with a 33-13 win over Northern Michigan on Thursday at Steele Stadium.

KWC quarterback Joey Cambron threw three touchdown passes to lead the team to victory. Cambron hit Jatavian Churchill with a 23-yard touchdown strike, Cambron also hit Khia Sherrard with a 34-yard touchdown pass, and Kam Sherrard with a 35-yard touchdown.

Cambron finished 20-of-31 passing for 310 yards with an interception. Kam Sherrard had six catches for 99 yards for the Panthers.

KWC hosts William Jewell next Saturday at 6 p.m. at Steele Stadium.
