Clemson was never going to have much of an easy chance to lick its wounds after facing No. 1 Georgia in the Aflac Kickoff Game in Atlanta to open the 2024 college football season.
The Tigers (0-1) are ranked No. 22 in this week’s US LBM Coaches Poll. Their Week 2 opponent, Appalachian State (0-1), has a solid program of their own and have been one of the better Group of Five teams in college football over the past 10 years.

Second-year starting quarterback Joey Aguilar was 22 of 36 for 326 yards and two touchdown tosses against ETSU. He threw for 3,757 yards and 33 touchdowns to 10 interceptions last year while starting the final 13 games of the season for App State.
Clemson is listed as a 17-point favorite over App State as of Friday morning, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
