Friday night stars: Vote in the Marion Star Football Player of Week 3 Poll

MARION — The area enjoyed a good night with eight of the teams in the Marion Star coverage area earning wins in Week 3 of the high school football season.

Several big performances were posted by players on Friday.

Once again fans are encouraged to vote as often as allowed in the Marion Star Football Player of Week 3 Poll. The poll will continue at MarionStar.com and its app through early Tuesday morning.

Here are the nominees for the latest poll:

Marion Star Football Player of Week 3 Poll

● River Valley’s Eli Snyder returned a fumble for a 53-yard touchdown, plus had seven catches for 71 yards and a diving 18-yard TD reception in a win at Buckeye Valley.

● Mount Gilead’s Carson Barnum scored two touchdowns on the ground in a win over Grove City Christian.

● Elgin’s Gavin Rhodes ran for 161 yards on eight carries, plus added eight tackles and one for a loss in a win over North Baltimore.

● North Union’s Tyler Krebehenne threw for a touchdown and ran one in during a victory over Zane Trace.

● Northmor’s Cowin Becker ran in two touchdowns and caught another in a win over Mapleton.

● Highland’s Kort Sears caught eight passes for 121 yards and a touchdown during a win over Coshocton.

● Marion Harding’s Ray J Scott-Harbolt ran for 96 yard and two touchdowns and caught four passes with another TD in a loss at Lima Senior.

● Cardington’s Wyatt Denney ran for 176 yards and three touchdowns, plus led the defense with 6.5 tackles in a win over Bucyrus.
