With a name like Bo Jackson, there’s pressure to be a great running back. The Ohio State commit is living up to it so far in his senior season.
The Villa Angela-St. Joseph (Cleveland, Ohio) running back rushed for nearly 200 yards in the first half alone to carry the Vikings to a 60-0 win over Mansfield Senior (Ohio). He had at least 162 rushing yards in the first quarter, according to 247Sports’ Bill Kurelic, and then added another 35 in the second to finish with 197 yards. With the score out of reach, Jackson didn’t play in the second half.
His final line: 197 rushing yards and three touchdowns on just nine carries. He averaged 21.9 yards per rush.
Jackson, who has no relation to the NFL and MLB legend with the same name, joined the Buckeyes’ recruiting class of 2025. Listed at 6-feet and 205 pounds, he is ranked on 247Sports as the third-best running back in the class and No. 85 player overall.
Fun fact: His real name isn’t Bo, according to ESPN. The multi-sport athlete took that nickname at an “early age,” the outlet wrote, and it hasn’t gone away. But his real name is also the name of a football superstar — Lamar Jackson Jr.
Therefore, Lamar “Bo” Jackson Jr. will look to continue leading Villa Angela-St. Joseph as the team builds on its 3-0 start. Last year, the Vikings went 9-4.
