NEW HARTFORD — New Hartford’s Spartans and Adirondack’s Wildcats played to the end of Section III competition in football last fall, and they met Friday to kick off the new season.
New Hartford, the sectional runner-up in Class B last year, routed reigning Class C champion Adirondack 48-6 in a game with none of the drama from the thrillers they played back-to-back last November in Syracuse University’s JMA Wireless Dome.
Jake Garcia ran for two touchdowns and John Vitullo threw for two and ran for a third to give the Spartans a 34-0 lead at halftime.
