Rutgers football cruised to a season-opening blowout win over Howard in its opener, and today the Scarlet Knights will look to earn its second win when they host Akron at SHI Stadium.
Greg Schiano’s team has won eight consecutive non-conference games and 12 of the last 13. Rutgers is also 10-3 in September games going back to 2021.
After Rutgers plays Akron, it will have a bye week before its first road game of the season at Virginia Tech on Sept. 21.
