Miami Hurricanes football looks like it’s back in the College Football Playoff picture. Can the U avoid a slip-up against Florida A&M?

Quarterback Cam Ward looked like a Heisman Trophy contender in his ‘Canes debut, throwing for 385 yards and three touchdowns. Star pass rusher Rueben Bain Jr. left in the first quarter with what coach Mario Cristobal called a “soft tissue injury” and will be out a few weeks.
FAMU is 2-0 and coming off an HBCU national championship season. The Rattlers had to rally last week to beat South Carolina State 22-18 in their home opener, with quarterback Daniel Richardson throwing two fourth-quarter touchdowns to secure the win. FAMU hasn’t lost since last season’s game against FBS opponent USF, but it does have one victory over such an opponent in its history, besting Miami 16-13 in October 1979.
