The Georgia Bulldogs are still the No. 1 team in the US LBM Coaches Poll after Week 2. The Dawgs delivered a 48-3 beatdown to the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles to move to 2-0. Next up for Georgia is an SEC road trip to face the Kentucky Wildcats.
Georgia continues to receive the vast majority of first place votes. The No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes and No. 3 Texas Longhorns are the only other teams to receive first place votes.
Texas had the country’s most impressive performance in Week 2. The Longhorns won 31-12 at the Michigan Wolverines to move to 2-0. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish suffered country’s biggest upset in Week 2. The Fighting Irish dropped from No. 7 to No. 19 after losing to Northern Illinois 16-14 at home.
Penn State, Oklahoma, Oregon and Kansas State all won one score games over Group of Five competition. The Tennessee Volunteers, who are now ranked No. 9, were also quite impressive in their 51-10 win over the hapless NC State Wolfpack.
Georgia is now scheduled to play against four top 10 teams over the next couple of months. The Bulldogs have their work cut out for them.
