Dunlap four-star high school football recruit makes campus visit to Ohio State

Mack Sutter made his way to the Horseshoe.

The four-star Dunlap tight end, part of the Class of 2026, was in attendance for No. 2 Ohio State’s 56-0 win over Western Michigan on Saturday, making an unofficial visit to the Columbus, Ohio, campus. Sutter has Ohio State among his 12 finalists.

The 6-foot-6, 225-pound junior’s visit to Ohio State followed previous announcements be would be in Champaign for Illinois’ game against Kansas or head south to see Ole Miss, but a change in family travel plans shook up his schedule. Sutter said he plans to attend a Fighting Illinois game at some point next month.

Sutter on Aug. 10 shared a social media from @Recruit2Illini that reported he would visit Champaign on Sept. 7. A week later, Sutter posted on social media he would be at Ole Miss for their Sept. 7 game.

The Ohio State campus visit comes after Sutter attended Auburn’s win against Alabama A&M on Aug. 31.

Sutter was coming off last Friday’s 41-31 victory over Rock Island in Week 2 during which he caught six balls for 121 yards. After this big game in Week 1, he now has 11 receptions, 198 yards and a touchdown on the season.

The Eagles (2-0) host Pekin (1-1) in a Mid-Illini Conference opener at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
