ESPN “College GameDay” host Rece Davis ranked his top 10 college football teams after Week 2 of the 2024 season. Davis, who was previously quit high on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, has five SEC teams in his top eight including the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs.

Davis is a voter in the Associated Press poll. Georgia continues to be Davis’ top team despite the Bulldogs’ 48-3 win over a lackluster opponent in Tennessee Tech. The rest of Davis’ top three remained unchanged. He still ranks the Texas Longhorns as the No. 3 team in the country despite the Longhorns’ dominant 31-12 win at Michigan. He moved Penn State up one spot to No. 4 and removed Notre Dame from his top 10 to No. 23.

Davis elevated the Tennessee Volunteers into his top five after Tennessee’s impressive 51-10 over the NC State Wolfpack. Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava looks like the real deal through two weeks. The former five-star quarterback recruit has thrown five touchdowns and two interceptions this season as the Volunteers look like contenders in the SEC.
