Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule met with the media on Monday afternoon. The Huskers are currently preparing for Northern Iowa on Saturday night.

Nebraska will enter the game ranked No. 24 in the US LBM Coaches Poll, the first time the Cornhuskers have been ranked since 2019. Northern Iowa, meanwhile, enters the game with a 2-0 record and is ranked No. 21 in the latest FCS poll.

This game will be the first meeting between these two programs. A win on Saturday over UNI would give Nebraska a 3-0 record in non-conference play. Nebraska last had a 3-0 non-conference record during the 2016 season.

This will be Nebraska’s 15th game against an FCS opponent in program history. They hold a 14-0 record all-time against FCS opponents.

The Huskers will honor the 2024 Nebraska Football Hall of Fame Class with an on-field celebration before Saturday’s game. The seven former Huskers to be honored are defensive lineman Monte Johnson, offensive lineman Keven Lightner, safety Tyrone Byrd, linebacker Terrell Farley, defensive end Chris Kelsay, defensive tackle Jared Crick, and running back Rex Burkhead.
