6 Alabama football players to know not named Jalen Milroe who will be key against Wisconsin on Saturday

MADISON – Jalen Milroe is a special player who could end up on the list of Heisman Trophy finalists in November, but there is more to Alabama than its junior quarterback. The nation’s fourth-ranked team features six preseason All-Americans and 14 preseason all-Southeastern Conference selections.

Here are six more Crimson Tide players certain to have an impact when it plays Wisconsin at 11 a.m. Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium.

The Crimson Tide’s starting offensive line features players who were four-star recruits or better. Booker, who will start at left guard, is the unit’s ring leader. In fact, as one of four captains, the 6-foot-5, 325-pound junior is a team leader who will make his 18th start Saturday. His presence has been even more critical on the left side in the absence of Kadyn Proctor, a sophomore left tackle who has yet to play this season due to injury.

The key to any defense is to be strong up the middle and Lawson (6-2, 239) provides that for the Crimson Tide. The redshirt junior started 11 games last season, missing the other three contests due to injury. He finished second on the team in tackles (67) and was a semifinalist for the Butkus Award, which goes to the nation’s top linebacker. He ranks second on the team this season with 14 tackles, which include one tackle for a loss.

Miller (5-10, 218) is a junior. Haynes (5-11, 210) is a sophomore. The two are big-play threats who are averaging 9.7 and 8.7 yards per carry., respectively.
