The Cincinnati area has dozens of local athletes represented in the new EA Sports College Football game.
The game has captured the hearts of college football fans around the country this year. It’s the first time Electronic Arts has released a new edition of its beloved college football video game series since 2013, due to legal concerns over players not being paid for their likenesses in the game. With all that pent up excitement, the new game is a sensation.
The game came back because of a 2021 ruling that NCAA players can profit off their name, image and likeness. For the first time, players real names are in the game by default if they opt in. Players who opted into the game received a copy and $600.

Some are more position-specific, like throw power or accuracy for a quarterback, pass or run blocking for an offensive lineman or even kick power for a kicker or punter. Safety Deshawn Pace began his career with the Bearcats before transferring to UCF before this season.
Pace transferred to UCF after a strong career at Cincinnati as a safety/linebacker. He’ll be a starter for the Knights, and the game has him tied for its second-best defensive player.
