MARION — Elgin’s Gavin Rhodes only ran eight times, but he accounted for 161 yards rushing, plus he added eight tackles with one for a loss in a 34-0 romp over North Baltimore last week.
It was enough for him to win the Marion Star Football Player of Week 3 Poll, earning 790 votes out of 2,563 cast for 31 percent.

Other nominees were Highland’s Kort Sears, Cardington’s Wyatt Denney, River Valley’s Eli Snyder, Marion Harding’s Ray J Scott-Harbolt, Mount Gilead’s Carson Barnum, Northmor’s Cowin Becker and North Union’s Tyler Krebehenne.
