In a world in which Stanford and Cal left the Pac-12 to join the ACC, we now have to ask another really stupid question which spits in the face of basic American geography: Can the Pac-12 convince Florida State and Clemson to leave the ACC and join the conference of the West? Yes, we know how wild and crazy this sounds, but then again, did you ever think USC, UCLA, Oregon, and Washington would be in the Big Ten? Did you ever think Stanford and Cal would join the ACC, alongside SMU? Did you ever think that Washington-Rutgers and USC-Maryland would be conference games? Did you ever imagine that UCF-Oklahoma State and West Virginia-Arizona State would be conference games in the Big 12? So much of college sports realignment is absolutely ridiculous and absurd, so why not continue with more absurdity now that the Pac-12 has invited four Mountain West schools and is seeking at least two more new partners before 2026? We simply have to ask questions about the Pac-12 adding Florida State and Clemson. It’s not likely, but we have to think that the Pac-12 wants this to happen for all sorts of reasons. Let’s go deeper into this discussion and explain why the Pac-12 might be putting all of its eggs in the Florida State and Clemson basket:
