Colorado football, Deion Sanders are ‘heading for disintegration,’ Finebaum says

Colorado football finds itself still searching for its first signature win of the season in Year 2 of the Deion Sanders era after the Buffaloes’ 28-10 loss to Nebraska on Saturday.

Colorado has struggled on both ends of the ball through two weeks. Colorado’s defense has given up 783 total yards and is tied for 58th in the country in red zone defense through two games. Last week, the Buffaloes were shut out 28-0 in the first half vs. Nebraska before hitting a third-quarter field goal and notching a fourth-quarter, 5-yard touchdown connection between Shedeur Sanders and LaJohntay Wester.

And ESPN college football personality Paul Finebaum doesn’t seem to believe things will get better at Colorado with Sanders.

“This thing feels like it’s heading for disintegration. I wouldn’t call it a divorce because frankly, they (Colorado) need him more than he needs them,” Finebaum said Wednesday on ESPN’s “Get Up” alongside Mike Greenberg. “But at some point, I think Deion Sanders is going to say, ‘I got to get out of here and go somewhere else.'”

With the loss to Nebraska last week, Colorado has now lost seven of its last eight games under Sanders. In that span, Colorado has been outscored 265-181 by its opponents.
