Vote for the Week 2 Reader’s Choice Football Player of the Week

HILLSDALE COUNTY — This week’s Reader’s choice football player of the week voting poll features players that helped their teams earn their first wins of the 2024 season.

Last week’s football reader’s choice winner was Kaiden Conroy of Camden-Frontier. Seven football players are up for this week’s award. Vote now until Friday at 11:59 p.m. Winner’s will be posted in the following Tuesday print edition alongside the Hillsdale Daily News’ 11 and 8-player award honorees.

Week 2 Nominees

Dominic Kurtz – Camden-Frontier: Kurtz led the RedHawk offense in their 58-0 shutout of Tekonsha. He had four catches for 86 yards and two touchdowns. He had a 15-yard touchdown run. On defense, Kurtz had four tackles, one sack, one blocked punt and a fumble recovery for a touchdown.

John Petersen – Hillsdale: John Petersen led the Hornet defense with nine total tackles and a fumble recovery against Lake Fenton.

Carson Playford – Jonesville: Playford led Jonesville’s rushing attack against Napoleon. The senior had 13 carries for 91 yards and a touchdown. He also had a two-point conversion. On defense, he was second on the team stat sheet with nine total tackles.

Andrew Erhardt – Litchfield: Erhardt was tied for total team tackles with 8 against Waldron. On offense, he had three catches for 29 yards and three carries for 59 yards and a touchdown.

Jake Drawe – Pittsford: Jake Drawe was involved on every one of Pittsford’s touchdowns in their 48-20 win over Burr Oak. The Wildcat junior quarterback had 10 completions for 219 yards and four touchdowns. On the ground, he rushed 14 times for 205 yards and three touchdowns.
