Enjoy Saturday night, because this won’t happen again for quite a while.
The Colorado and Colorado State football teams meet Saturday (5:30 p.m., Sept. 14 on CBS), but it’s the last Rocky Mountain Showdown any of these players will compete in.
The Showdown is off for four years after this.
Then it will be back intermittently over the course of nine years. By then we’ll all be old, with a game in 2038 already on the books.
It’s a strange, irregular and extended schedule of upcoming rivalry games between the CSU and CU football teams.
Here’s a look at the future games locked into the schedule via a signed contract. All games are scheduled to be played on campus of the host school. (Exact dates of games can change.)
