Mandarin will travel to Bradford on Friday night in a battle between two North Florida heavyweights.

The reigning 2S-Region 2 champion Tornadoes are looking to stay unbeaten and will have to take down an undefeated power in the Mustangs, who went to the state title game just like Bradford after winning the 4M-Region 1 title last year.

Mandarin (3-0) is ranked No. 7 overall in the state, while Bradford sits at No. 4 in Class 2A.

Mandarin is without star quarterback and Florida State commit Tramell Jones Jr., but still has enough weapons to test a Bradford squad coming off of a strong win over South Sumter.

Mandarin is in the hunt for another deep playoff run and has the tools to make it happen. Wide receiver Jamie Ffrench, a five-star Texas commit, has reeled in seven catches for 208 yards and one touchdown, while a formidable secondary led by Hylton Stubbs (four-star Miami commit) and Brody Jennings (four-star Michigan commit) keeps things locked down on the other side of the ball.

Bradford picked up right where it left off last year when it rattled off 14 straight wins before falling to Cocoa in the Class 2S state championship. The undefeated Tornadoes are led by running back Gino Anderson, who holds offers from Old Dominion, UMass and Central Michigan. The defense is senior-heavy, with linebacker Jeremiah McKenzie (Central Michigan commit) posting 16 total tackles with a sack through his first two games.
