It’s been a quite a while since Wisconsin has hosted a nonconference game with this kind of cachet.
The No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide visits Camp Randall Saturday. It’s likely the biggest nonconference game for the Badgers since UW upset No. 5 LSU, 16-14, at Lambeau Field in 2016.
If the Badgers were to pull off a similar surprise, it would be the first time in 50 years that UW has won a non-conference game in Madison against a team ranked No. 4 or higher. However, they’re a 16.5-point underdog.
