WEST LAFAYETTE − As expected, the Purdue football debut of two Georgia transfers is on hold.
Cornerback Nyland Green and receiver CJ Smith are among the inactive players for the Boilermakers today against No. 19 Notre Dame.
Tight end George Burhenn, defensive back Smiley Bradford, defensive linemen Joe Strickland and Drake Carlson along with linebackers Owen Davis and Winston Berglund also are out for today’s game. Defensive lineman Joe Anderson, a projected starter on the depth chart, is listed as questionable.
Left tackle Corey Stewart, a transfer from Ball State, and receiver Kam Brown, a transfer from UCLA, both missed the season opener and are expected to play their first game for Purdue today.
Purdue is coming off a season-opening 49-0 victory over Indiana State two weeks ago and attempting to beat the Fighting Irish for the first time since 2007.

The Boilermakers haven’t started a season 2-0 since 2021, when they lost to Notre Dame in their third game after wins against Oregon State and Connecticut.
