Dominant Ja’Quinden Jackson saves Arkansas football’s sluggish offense in win over UAB

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas football put forth an ugly offensive performance across a variety of fronts Saturday against UAB.

Quarterback Taylen Green came back down to earth in the Razorbacks’ 37-27 victory. The Boise State transfer was 11 of 26 for just 161 yards and an interception, while the offensive line gave up three sacks and missed on some blitz protections. Only three different players caught a pass in the win.

Despite those struggles, the offense was able to rack up 427 yards and score four touchdowns. The Hogs have scored at least 35 points in all three games this season, and they only crossed that threshold three times all of 2023.

Jackson finished the night with 147 yards and one touchdown on 15 carries. His 16-yard score in the third quarter gave Arkansas its first lead of the game at 27-20, and the Hogs wouldn’t relinquish that advantage.

Jackson averaged 9.8 yards per carry and powered an Arkansas offense that ran for 266 yards as a team. It’s the first time that Arkansas has ran for more than 200 yards in three-straight games for the first time since early in the 2022 campaign.

And for Jackson personally, Saturday…
