Here is where Kansas State football stands in the US LBM Coaches Poll after Arizona win

MANHATTAN — Kansas State football’s impressive 31-7 victory over Arizona on Friday night not only produced bump in the US LBM Coaches poll, but it also knocked the other Wildcats out of the Top 25.

By knocking off Arizona in their final nonconference test, the Wildcats (3-0) moved up one spot to No. 14, while No. 18 Arizona (2-1) fell all the way out. K-State opens Big 12 play Saturday in a 9:30 p.m. central time contest against Brigham Young (3-0) in Provo, Utah.

K-State gave up a touchdown to Arizona on the game’s opening drive, then shut the Wildcats out the rest of the way without yielding another point. It was a big bounce-back for the defense, which allowed nearly 500 yards the week before in a victory at Tulane.

K-State also got a big game from quarterback Avery Johnson, who passed for 156 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for a career-high 110 yards. DJ Giddens ran for 87 yards and Dylan Edwards for 41 to go with a 71-yard punt return touchdown as the Wildcats ran for 235 yards as a team.

With Arizona dropping out, the Big 12 now only has four ranked teams, led by Utah (3-0), which remained at No. 10 after beating Utah State, 38-21. K-State switched places with No. 15 Oklahoma State (3-0), which knocked off Tulsa, 45-10, while idle Iowa State jumped two spots to No. 21.
