Conference action with the SEC heats up this weekend as four conference battles are on the docket for week four including Auburn vs. Arkansas and Tennessee vs. Oklahoma.
Ahead of this weekend’s action, nine teams from the SEC have earned a place within the US LBM Coaches Poll following week three’s results.
Georgia remains the top team this week despite squeaking out a one-point road victory at Kentucky to kick off SEC play. Texas jumps Ohio State to take the No. 2 slot after an impressive showing at home against UTSA and a stellar performance from quarterback Arch Manning in the place of injured Heisman Trophy contender Quinn Ewers.
Alabama and Ole Miss round out the top five at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively after both teams earned convincing wins over Power 4 foes on the road. Tennessee claims the No. 7 ahead of its showdown in Norman with No. 13 Oklahoma on Saturday and a comeback effort from Missouri puts them in a tie with Penn State at No. 8.
LSU is next in line at No. 16 after its impressive comeback effort at South Carolina, and Texas A&M returns to the top 25 after beating Florida.
Auburn remains out of consideration for a place within the US LBM Coaches Poll despite receiving votes in the first two weeks. The first chance for Auburn to take down a top 25 team will be next week when the Tigers host No. 13 Oklahoma at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
