We simulated Tennessee football vs. Oklahoma. Who won the game, MVP honors in EA Sports?

It’s Week 4 of football in Tennessee! With the No. 6 Volunteers (3-0) traveling to Oklahoma to face the No. 15 Sooners (3-0), we ran through 100 video game simulations to see what the outcome might be in Norman.

Tennessee dominated Kent State in real life last week and in our EA Sports College Football 25 simulations on PS5, winning nearly every game. The simulations did not got close to the actual outcome, though, as the Volunteers crushed the Golden Flashes 71-0.

This week’s game takes place at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 21, which isn’t an option in the game. To get as close as possible, we set the kickoff time to 8 p.m. and the weather to partly cloudy, which was in the forecast at the time of our simulations.

The games varied in the final scores, with most ending within seven points or fewer, although a handful had huge point differences. Oklahoma typically only won by few points. Their biggest victory was 30-13 in Game 40.

Tennessee took commanding leads in most of the games. Tennessee shutout Oklahoma 38-0 in Game 83.

Nine games went to overtime. The Vols won five of the overtime matchups, but nothing compared to the hilarity of Game 36. The simulation went to 10 overtimes, with the Vols and Sooners duking it out with 2-point conversions. After five missed attempts in a row for both teams, Oklahoma finally scored and stopped Tennessee to win 36-34.

The Vols scored an average of 25.91 points per game,…
