College football recruiting: Latest commitment updates for 5-star recruits in 2025 class

It may seem hard to believe we’re just a few months away from the first day of the Early Signing Period. As expected, most of the nation’s top players have already committed.

Classes have been formed, and while flips and decommitments can always happen, we have a good idea of where the best players in 2025 are likely headed.

According to 247Sports’ ranking, there are 32 five-star players this cycle.

Of those 32, 28 are already committed, with 15 different schools comprising that list.

Here’s a look at where the five-star recruits in the 2025 class are committed:

Alabama

No Nick Saban, no problem. Kalen DeBoer’s first class with the Crimson Tide already looks like it’ll be memorable, as Alabama has four five-star pledges.

Three of Alabama’s five-star pledges are on the offensive side of the ball. Duncanville (Texas) quarterback Keelon Russell headlines the group. Russell ranks as the No. 10 player in the country and No. 3 quarterback.

He also has a solid weapon to work within the class in Ackerman (Miss.) Choctaw County receiver Caleb Cunningham will be protected up front by Denton (Texas) Ryan offensive tackle Ty Haywood. Cunningham ranks No. 22 nationally, and Haywood is No. 18.

Mission Viejo (Calif.) cornerback Dijon Lee is the lone defensive five-star so far. He ranks No. 31 nationally and is the No. 4 cornerback in the class.

Auburn

The Tigers stayed in-state to land their two five-star pledges. They also are forming a formidable front in those two commitments.

Auburn’s class is headlined by Alabaster (Ala.) Thompson EDGE Jared Smith. Smith is the No. 19 player in the class and committed to the Tigers in early August ahead of his senior season.

Hugh Freeze really began building this class around Opelika (Ala.) defensive lineman Malik Autry. Autry, the No. 29 player this cycle, committed to the Tigers in February.
