McQuaid running back has monster 5-touchdown game: Top Section V performances Friday

Rochester region high school football kicked off Week 3 action on Friday.

See who were the top performers that night.

Tommy Ashby, Wayne: Senior finished with two touchdowns and 191 yards to help the Eagles defeat Newark/Marion 24-19.

Aiden Bark, Geneseo/Mt. Morris: Recorded 19 rushes for 102 yards and two touchdowns on offense, with an interception on defense in a win over Attica.

Tyler Benjamin, East/World of Inquiry: Senior quarterback threw two touchdown passes, as he completed 6 of 13 attempts for 151 yards. He also had a touchdown run while the Eagles defeated Greece Athena 61-21.

Paris Brooken, UPrep: The Griffins’ receiver caught a 31-yard touchdown pass during a 20-7 win over Pittsford. Jayvon Johnson caught four receptions for 53 yards at receiver, and intercepted a pass on defense.

Reece Byrnes, Geneseo/Mt. Morris: Quarterback tossed two touchdowns and had 260 yards on 16-for-22 passing in a 31-16 victory over Attica. Byrnes’ top targets were Avery Hepler (six receptions, 111 yards, touchdown) and Bryce Patterson (four receptions, 93 yards, touchdown).

Football: Section V scores for 2024 season

Benny Calixto, Eastridge: Quarterback completed 9-of-11 attempts for 248 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Also carried four times for 31 yards and a score. His primary receiver was Steven Masetta, who hauled in five receptions for 155 yards and two touchdowns. Dwayne Collins had the other receiving touchdown, a 24-yarder, in Eastridge’s 38-6 victory against Wilson.

Trey Comella, Canandaigua: Tailback helped the Gray Wolves improve to 3-0 with 145 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-20 win against Greece Arcadia.

Javy Connor, UPrep: Collected 2.5 tackles and an interception during a 20-7 win over Pittsford. Cashmere Williams had 5.5 tackles and forced a fumble.
