Jets RT Morgan Moses expected to miss 2-to-4 weeks with MCL sprain: report

The Jets are expected to be without right tackle Morgan Moses for a few weeks due to a knee injury he sustained during Thursday’s win over the New England Patriots.

Moses is expected to miss 2-to-4 weeks after tests revealed an MCL sprain and bone bruise, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported Saturday morning.

This is a big sigh of relief for Gang Green as there were fears when the injury initially occurred it could be much worse.

Head coach Robert Saleh said on Friday morning that the team felt “decent” about Moses’ prognosis, specifically, that they didn’t believe the injury to be a season-ending issue. The tests have revealed that to be the case.

If Moses misses the next two games, he could return for the Week 6 matchup against the Buffalo Bills.

On the play in the second half that resulted in the injury, left tackle Tyron Smith missed his assignment allowing Patriots linebacker Josh Uche to get to quarterback Aaron Rodgers for a sack and Moses, in protection, was rolled up on from behind.

The 33-year-old writhed in pain but eventually walked to the sidelines under his own power and later, after time in the medical tent, walked to the locker room. He did not return.

New York’s first-round pick Olu Fashanu (11th overall) finished the game at right tackle.

New York acquired the veteran in an offseason trade with the Ravens after he spent two seasons in Baltimore. He previously played 16 games for the Jets in 2021.
