Texas football appears to have earned its No. 1 ranking.

This weekend, that ranking will be put to the test when the Longhorns welcome the Mississippi State Bulldogs to Austin  for a Southeastern Conference showdown.

The ‘Horns come in ranked second in the US LBM Coaches Poll with a 4-0 record early on in their first SEC season. Last week, Texas throttled the UL-Monroe Warhawks, 51-3.

The ‘Dogs are the polar opposite, sitting in the conference cellar after losing to the Florida Gators at home last weekend, 45-28. That leaves MSU 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the SEC so far.

The Texas Longhorns will host the Mississippi State Bulldogson Saturday, Sept. 28 at 4:15 p.m.
