Ohio State Buckeyes running back Quinshon Judkins (1) celebrates the touchdown with with tight end Will Kacmarek (89) during the second quarter against the Marshall Thundering Herd at Ohio Stadium, Sept. 21, 2024.

The Buckeyes’ buzzsaw sliced apart three nonconference opponents with minimal opposition, their latest Saturday a 49-14 demolition of Marshall. Coach Ryan Day’s squad owns a 157-20 scoring advantage through three games as it prepares for its Big Ten opener. That is similar to the domination Ohio State has had over MSU in recent years, having outscored the Spartans 320-77 during an ongoing eight-game win streak. That includes a walloping 205-42 differential in the past four meetings. The Buckeyes ranks third in the country in scoring (52.3) and fifth in total offense (552.0 yards) — 14th in both passing (311.0 yards) and rushing (241). Running back Quinshon Judkins has 336 yards on 36 attempts, and TreVeyon Henderson has added 207 rush yards. The duo has combined for nine rushing touchdowns. Quarterback Will Howard has 795 yards on 68.9% passing with six TDs to one interception. OSU’s defense has been dominant, allowing 180 yards a game (second in the Football Bowl Subdivision) and 6.7 points (fourth). The Buckeyes allow just 66.7 rushing yards (seventh) and 113.3 passing yards (fifth).
