The Ducks didn’t play on Saturday, but they weren’t idle in the national football polls Sunday morning.
Oregon (3-0) dropped one spot in the US LBM Coaches Poll and rose one spot in The Associated Press top-25 media rankings.
The Ducks are coming off their first bye week of the season and will return to the field on Saturday for an 8 p.m. game against UCLA (1-2) at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
In the coaches poll, the No. 7 Ducks flip-flopped with No. 6 Tennessee, as the Volunteers improved to 4-0 with a 25-15 win against No. 18 Oklahoma on Saturday. In the AP poll, they went up from No. 9 to No. 8 thanks to Missouri’s four-spot tumble from No. 7 to No. 11.
Oregon had been ranked sixth in the coaches poll for the past three weeks, ever since a 24-14 win against Idaho in its season-opener on Aug. 31 dropped the Ducks from their preseason No. 3 ranking.
The top-5 remained the same this week, with No. 1 Georgia (3-0) followed by No. 2 Texas (4-0), No. 3 Ohio State (3-0), No. 4 Alabama (3-0) and No. 5 Ole Miss (4-0).
Fellow Big Ten team Penn State (3-0) is behind Oregon at No. 8, with Miami (4-0) and Utah (4-0) rounding out the top 10, respectively.
Other Big Ten teams ranked in the coaches poll are No. 12 Michigan (3-1), No. 16 Southern California (2-1) and No. 21 Illinois (4-0), which makes its season debut in the top 25.
Also receiving votes were Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, Washington and Rutgers.
In the AP poll, No. 1 Texas maintained its top ranking for the second straight week, with No. 2 Georgia, No. 3 Ohio State and No. 4 Alabama also holding strong. No. 5 Tennessee and No. 6 Ole Miss traded places from a week ago, with No. 7…
