Manor receiver Jordan Clark named Class 6A Built Ford Tough Player of the Week

Manor senior Jordan Clark’s virtuoso performance against Hutto last week has caught the attention of the state.

The Mustang senior was almost unstoppable, catching 12 passes for 276 yards and three touchdowns. Clark also returned a punt 60 yards to set up another score. The Mustangs won for the first time this year, 43-36.

Manor senior Jordan Clark was named Built Ford Tough player of the week for Class 6A after leading Mustangs past Hutto.

For his performance, Clark has been named Built Ford Tough Player of the Week for Class 6A.

Clark’s speed is what sets him apart. He ran the 100 meters in 10.5 seconds during track and field season in the spring. While attending college football camps in the summer, he was clocked at 4.4 seconds in the 40.

Clark transferred from Fort Worth Brewer to Manor this season. He played quarterback at Brewer but was shifted to wide receiver at Manor to utilize his big-play ability. Through three games he has caught 27 passes for 489 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Last week he had a special connection with Manor quarterback Cam Huff, who completed 17-of-31 passes for 341 yards and five touchdowns.

“Jordan’s already been offered by Air Force and Navy but he’s going to get more,” Manor coach James Keller said. “When he got here I told everyone he was going to be special. We switched him to receiver because we didn’t think he had the height to be a DI quarterback. What he possesses is speed and great hands.”

Rankings: Georgetown, Pflugerville remain unbeaten in 5A football

Manor (1-2, 1-0) faces Westwood (0-4, 0-2) in a District 25-6A game on Thursday.

Texas Ford dealers recognize highlight players each week from private schools through Class 6A. Last week McCallum quarterback Luke Dunham received the award for Class 5A.
