Week 5 of the college football season is here, and ESPN’s “College GameDay” is headed to a clash between titans.
No. 4 Alabama (3-0) is hosting No. 1 Georgia (3-0, 1-0 SEC) on Saturday in Tuscaloosa, marking the first time the two programs have met in a game outside of the SEC championship or national championship game since 2020, when the Crimson Tide beat the Bulldogs 41-24 at home.

The game marks the first true test for coach Kalen DeBoer, who’s tasked with taking on one of the most successful programs in recent memory in his first season after taking over for the retired Nick Saban. DeBoer will hope to continue Saban’s dominance of Georgia, as the legendary coach has bested the Bulldogs in five of Alabama’s last six matchups.
The game is certainly one of the top matchups of the entire regular season, and the winner should firmly cement itself as one of the top national championship contenders in college football.
