How did Kyle McCord do for Syracuse vs Holy Cross? Former Ohio State QB’s stats in Week 5

Kyle McCord bounced back from last week’s ACC loss to Stanford with an impressive outing vs Holy Cross on Saturday.

The former Ohio State quarterback dominated against the Crusaders’ defense Saturday inside JMA Wireless Dome, as the now-Syracuse quarterback posted his fourth consecutive game of at least 300 passing yards this season on Saturday.

In the 42-14 win over Holy Cross, McCord completed 28 of 50 passes for 385 yards and four touchdowns to two interceptions. As noted by Syracuse broadcaster Tim Leonard on X (formerly Twitter), McCord’s big day in the air set a program record for the most consecutive 300-yard passing games, at four.

With that, Syracuse picked up its third win of the season and extended its win streak over FCS opponents to 22 consecutive games since 1978, when college football broke off into two divisions.

McCord had little to no trouble finding his receivers for a score throughout the afternoon, as highlighted by his four touchdowns on the day. It is the third time this season that McCord has thrown four or more touchdowns in a single game, a feat he never reached at Ohio State.

This success of McCord on Saturday was well documented by his three passing touchdowns in a span of less than 16 minutes across the first and second quarters.

The first touchdown from the McCord came on the run as he flushed out of the pocket on third-and-goal and found a sliding Umari Hatcher on the run open near the back corner of the left end zone.

He recorded his second touchdown of the afternoon on a 23-yard throw to Darrell Gill Jr., to put the Orange up 14-0.
