MANHATTAN — No. 25-ranked Kansas State football and No. 20 Oklahoma State both look to get back on track with a much needed Big 12 victory Saturday morning at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
It will be the home conference opener for K-State (3-1, 0-1 Big 12) after falling at Brigham Young last week, 38-9. Likewise, Oklahoma State (3-1, 0-1) dropped its first league game at home to No. 10-ranked Utah, 22-19.
K-State has not lost back-to-back games since the end of the 2021 regular season, but has not had much success against Oklahoma State in five previous tries under coach Chris Klieman with the Cowboys holding a 4-1 advantage. The Wildcats’ lone victory during that stretch was a 48-0 shutout two years ago in Manhattan.
While this year’s highly anticipated matchup between two of the Big 12 preseason favorites lost some luster after last week’s losses, it is now a survival game with the loser facing a steep uphill climb toward reaching the conference championship game.
