Frontier: Yotes hand Tech first loss

Sep. 29—CALDWELL, Idaho — Andy Peters threw for 419 yards with two touchdowns and the College of Idaho won in overtime 45-37 to hand Montana Tech their first loss of the season on Saturday.

Peters accounted for two more touchdowns on the ground, running for 90 yards as the Coyotes gained 586 total yards of offense.

Montana Tech’s Landers Smith ran for 111 yards with two touchdowns. His second score of the night tied the game 37-37 with 40 seconds left in the fourth.

In overtime, Hunter Gilbert rushed for a two-yard touchdown and Peters rushed in the two-point conversion to take a 45-37 lead.

Blake Thelen threw for 387 with three touchdowns but was picked off in the fourth quarter, resulting in a C of I touchdown, and was intercepted again in overtime to end the game.

Southern Oregon 28, Montana Western 26

ASHLAND, Ore. — Southern Oregon’s Gunner Yates ran for 154 yards and two touchdowns to help his team stay undefeated with a win over Montana Western at Raider Stadium.

Down 28-13 heading into the fourth, Montana Western’s Michael Palandri threw two touchdowns to Eli Nourse but could not convert the two-point conversion after the second TD to bring the Bulldogs into a tie.

Palandri finished the day with 371 yards and three touchdown passes. Nourse was his favorite target, hauling in eight catches for 111 yards and two scores.

Jon Kirkley and Dylan Shipley each caught five passes with Kirkley accounting for 98 yards and Shipley’s going for 80.

Eastern Oregon 23, Rocky Mountain 20

BILLINGS — Quincy Clasper accounted for all three touchdowns to lead Eastern Oregon to their first win of the season on the road against Rocky Mountain at Herb Klindt Field.

Clasper threw for 296 yards with a touchdown and ran for an additional 95 yards and two touchdowns. Colton Kesey caught three passes for 87 yards, the bulk of it coming on…
