They say hungry dogs run faster.
And Notre Dame was hungry to keep their college football playoff hopes alive by hanging on at home, taking down Louisville 31 to 24 fits.
It wasn’t pretty, but they got the job done.
Yeah, this is proof that you can have a good football game that doesn’t necessarily involve great football teams because to your point, I didn’t watch this.
Like, if the committee’s gonna use the eye test at some point and use this win is a big part of it.
I didn’t watch this and think, wow, what a dominant Notre Dame team.
This felt like two teams that were just on the field trying to figure out ways to lose.
It’s weird to me and Riley Leonard.
Very good in this game with Caroline.
I think we got to admit that when he plays efficiently and when he runs up they’re gonna be in games and when he doesn’t, they won’t like, this team will go as he goes every week 100% and it just looking at the box score, it’s not like Riley Leonard did anything, you know, spectacular through the air.
He didn’t have gaudy numbers, 100 and 63 passing yards and two touchdowns, but it was the fact that Notre Dame with all of the mistakes that they made, whether it was penalties, whether it was turnovers.
Notre Dame had two.
Louisville had three.
Notre Dame was able to find a way to capitalize on that.
It almost felt like neither team really wanted it.
Yeah, I’m still stuck on the fact that you got 1/4 in inches, fourth and one late in the game and for Louisville and you get to delay a game.
