Does Texas play this week? Longhorns college football schedule for game after Week 6 bye

After reaching the College Football Playoff last season, the Texas Longhorns certainly look like a championship contender this fall.

Ranked No. 1 in the US LBM Coaches Poll, Texas is off to a 5-0 start this season. Behind the play of quarterbacks Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning, the UT offense is averaging 45 points per game. The Longhorns have allowed just three touchdowns and 35 total points. Texas did not trail at any point of its games against Colorado State, Michigan, UTSA, Louisiana-Monroe and Mississippi State.

Texas now has a bye on its schedule. The Longhorns don’t play again until they meet Oklahoma in Dallas on Oct. 12 for the annual Red River Rivalry game.

Does Texas play this week?

The Longhorns will not play this week. This is the first of two byes on the schedule for UT. Texas also gets the week off after it plays at Vanderbilt on Oct. 26.

Following this bye, Texas will face two of its toughest tests of the season. The Longhorns have two weeks to prepare for No. 17 Oklahoma. A home game against No. 5 Georgia is then scheduled for Oct. 19.
