Mississippi State football lands No. 1 junior college player Zavion Hardy in 2025 class

STARKVILLE — The top junior college player in the country has committed to Mississippi State football.

Zavion Hardy, a defensive lineman at East Mississippi Community College, pledged to the Bulldogs’ 2025 recruiting class on Tuesday. He’s listed as a four-star by 247Sports Composite and picked MSU over offers from Alabama, Arkansas, South Carolina, USC, Ole Miss, Oklahoma and Georgia, among others.

His commitment means three of the top four junior college players are now a part of Mississippi State’s recruiting class. Four-star safety Tony Mitchell, also of East Mississippi Community College, is ranked No. 2 and three-star defensive lineman Kevonte Henry from Cerritos College is No. 4.

Hardy, who is from Macon, Georgia, has played in three games this season for East Mississippi and has seven tackles.

Hardy, listed at 6-foot-6 and 280 pounds, is a four-star according to the 247Sports rankings. He’s tabbed as the No. 1 junior college player in the country.

He’s the third defensive linemen commitment of the class, joining three-stars Kevonte Henry and Christopher Johnson.
