NCAA selects Canton to host the 2028 Stagg Bowl

University of Mary Hardin-Baylor players warm up during a practice at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton in 2021 in preparation for the Stagg Bowl.

The NCAA is bringing the Stagg Bowl back to Canton for a third time.

The Division III football championship game will be played at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in 2028, the NCAA said this week when announcing more than 240 host sites for sports championships across Division I, II and III primarily for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons.

The NCAA said it received more than 1,200 bids from member schools, conferences, cities and sports commissions across 47 states and Washington, D.C.

In addition to Canton serving as a host site, the University of Mount Union, located in Alliance, and Greater Cleveland Sports Commission will serve as hosts for the 2027 Division III outdoor track and field finals at SPIRE Institute in Geneva.
