Texas football has scheduled a future nonconference game with Louisiana Tech, an athletic department spokesperson said on Thursday.
The Longhorns will play the Bulldogs at Royal-Memorial Stadium on Sept. 2, 2028. Texas and Louisiana Tech last met in 2019, when the Longhorns beat the Bulldogs 45-14 in Austin.

Texas also has a home game scheduled with UTSA in 2028, according to documents obtained by the Austin American-Statesman. If the SEC opts to move to nine conference games, the Longhorns will have just one spot remaining on their noncon slate for that year. If not, Texas will need to schedule two further nonconference games.
Louisiana Tech is coached by Sonny Cumbie, a native of Tyler, Texas, and a Texas Tech graduate. En route to his first full-time head coaching gig, he served as an assistant at TCU and with the Red Raiders ‒ even filling in as TTU’s interim head coach in 2021.
Cumbie is 7-21 overall at Louisiana Tech, which is off to a 1-3 start this season.
