Conner Weigman injury update: Texas A&M QB listed as questionable for Missouri game

It has been three weeks since we last saw Texas A&M football quarterback Conner Weigman under center. Weigman suffered an injury to his AC joint during the season-opening loss to Notre Dame and reaggravated it one week later against McNeese State.

Since then, it has been a will he or won’t he situation to see if Weigman will be suited up and ready to go for the Aggies. With A&M set to host the undefeated Missouri Tigers in a nationally televised Week 6 SEC showdown, the questions around Weigman’s availability still remain.

Texas A&M quarterback Conner Weigman was injured in the season opener against Notre Dame and then reaggravated it in Week 2. Backup Marcel Reed has taken over since then, leading the Aggies to three straight wins. They’re 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the SEC.

Not much publicly has changed for Weigman over the last couple of weeks. In the last two outings between Bowling Green and Arkansas, the quarterback was ruled out during pregame and has been on the sideline in street clothes.

Head coach Mike Elko has insisted that Weigman has been a game-time decision over the last three weeks, though the last two weeks he didn’t even suit up.

Although he hasn’t been ruled out for Saturday’s game, with a bye week on the horizon in Week 7, Weigman’s situation is worth monitoring to see if his availability will change at all in the coming weeks.

Who is Weigman’s backup on Aggies’ depth chart?

In Weigman’s absence, redshirt freshman Marcel Reed has stepped in. The Aggies have gone 3-0 during that stretch and have beaten the Florida Gators and rival Arkansas Razorbacks in the process, pushing their record to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the SEC.
