Bredun Bursey and Brock Camp, Hickman: Two once again shine in a rivalry matchup

For the third straight week Hickman came away victorious as it defeated Jefferson City 49-35, snapping a 12-game losing streak against the Jays. Once again, the dynamic connection between sophomore quarterback Bredun Bursey and senior tight end Brock Camp was on display. Bursey tossed for over 220 yards and three scores while rushing for 80-plus yards and three touchdowns. Two of those touchdown passes went to Brock Camp, who tallied 140 receiving yards and a pair of scores of 18 and 57 yards.

Late in the fourth quarter, Rock Bridge pulled a trick play as kicker kicker Matt Wheeler found tight end Garrett Essner off a fake field goal to give Rock Bridge a 35-28 lead over Camdenton. The Bruins went on to win 35-30. It Essner’s second touchdown of the night. With under eight minutes to play in the fourth quarter, Essner took a pass from Brady Davidson and turned it into a 53-yard score,…
