College football rankings: Big 12 teams in updated Coaches Poll, AP Top 25 after Week 6

The Big 12 avoided something that Week 6 of the college football schedule saw quite a lot of Saturday: an upset.

And because of that, the Big 12 could find itself with a top-10 team when the US LBM Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 poll is released later Sunday.

The Week 6 schedule within the Big 12 was headlined by No. 16 Iowa State handling business at home against Baylor, as Cyclones quarterback Rocco Becht and running back Jaylon Jackson combined for 384 total yards of offense and four touchdowns in the 43-21 victory.

Oklahoma State’s woes continued as Mike Gundy’s squad suffered their third consecutive loss after opening the season 3-0 and ranked in the top 15. The Cowboys could not stop West Virginia’s Jahiem White on Saturday, as the sophomore running back ran for 158 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries in the 38-14 win in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

One Big 12 team that might find themselves getting into both of the national polls — or at least one — is Arizona State. Kenny Dillingham’s Sun Devils pulled out the 35-31 home victory against Kansas. The Sun Devils are now 4-1 overall the season, already surpassing their win total of three from last season.

Here’s how this past week’s results within the Big 12 was reflected in the updated US LBM Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 poll:
