Auburn football dropped its third-straight game on Saturday, falling to the No. 4 Georgia Bulldogs in Athens, 31-13.
Auburn’s position in the USA TODAY Sports re-rank was already low, and it continued to drop after its most recent loss. Heading into the bye week, Auburn checks in at No. 82 in Paul Myerberg’s weekly rankings, down one spot from last week’s release.
Georgia remains at No. 5 despite defeating Auburn and losses by Alabama and Tennessee. Texas and Ohio State each moved up one position to No. 1 and No. 2 respectively while Oregon and Penn State each moved up three places to take the No. 3 and No. 4 spots.
Looking at the rest of the SEC, Missouri took the biggest hit this week after its road loss to Texas A&M. The Tigers remain in the top 25 after falling 14 places to No. 24. Tennessee and Alabama are No. 8 and No. 9 this week after suffering upset losses to unranked SEC foes on the road.
Vanderbilt experienced the biggest jump this week by moving up 34 spots to No. 58 after its upset win over then-No. 2 Alabama on Saturday. The biggest drop belongs to TCU. They fell 22 places to No. 66 after falling to Houston, 30-19.
