Illinois-Michigan kickoff time set – Yahoo Sports

Oct. 7—CHAMPAIGN — The much-anticipated Illinois football home game against Michigan on Oct. 19 now has a start time.

The Illini and Wolverines will kick off at 2:30 p.m. in less than two weeks at Memorial Stadium in Champaign, with CBS broadcasting the game.

The No. 23 Illini (4-1, 1-1 Big Ten) and No. 24 Wolverines (4-2, 2-1) will meet almost 100 years to the day of Red Grange making a national name for himself when the Illini legend scored six touchdowns during a 39-14 win against Michigan on Oct. 18, 1924 that also served as the dedication game for Memorial Stadium.

Illinois will wear throwback uniforms and a specially-designed faux leather helmet for its first home game against Michigan since the 2019 season. Illinois announced on Sunday night and again on Monday that less than 1,500 tickets remain for the game.

The kickoff against Michigan marks the second straight mid-afternoon Saturday kickoff for Illinois. The Illini will host Purdue (1-4, 0-2) at 2:30 p.m. this Saturday.
