Purdue football loses top commitment in 2025 class, continuing Boilers’ downward spiral

The bad news for Purdue football continued to roll in as the top-ranked player in its 2025 recruiting class has decommitted.

Columbus (OH) Walnut Ridge cornerback Dewayne Galloway announced his decommitment Sunday afternoon. The 4-star, top 200 prospect has been committed to the Boilermakers since July 5.

Galloway is the third prospect to rescind his pledge in the past week, joining 2025 Hammond Morton receiver LeBron Hill and 2026 Downey (Calif ) quarterback Oscar Rios.

I have decommitted from Purdue after careful thought and consideration. Thank you to the staff and all involved. I am open to all programs interested in myself. Direct message myself or contact @DJRSwework for everything moving forward.
