JSU’s game against Florida A&M will be significant. In the SWAC preseason poll, the Rattlers were picked to finish second in the East, followed by JSU. Right now, the Tigers are at the top of the standings, followed by Florida A&M.
Florida A&M this past weekend defeated Alabama State, the projected East winner, 28-13. The Rattlers also are entering their open week.
Against Alabama A&M, Jackson State went into halftime with a comfortable 38-10 lead. The Tigers scored just seven points in the second half, however, and the defense also faltered. Alabama A&M scored 28 points in the half, but JSU managed to hold on after the Bulldogs scored with 2:46 to go in the game.
