When do the Michigan State Spartans play today?
An electric Week 7 of college football in the Power Four kicked off on Friday night with Maryland hosting Northwestern in a Big Ten showdown and No. 17 Utah heading to Arizona State for a late-night kickoff.
Some of the best matchups of the season are taking place this week, with the Red River Rivalry between No. 1 Texas and No. 16 Oklahoma happening in Dallas, USC hosting No. 5 Penn State, plus the game everyone will have their eyes on – No. 2 Ohio State traveling to Oregon to take on the No. 3 Ducks.

The good news for MSU fans is they should have plenty of time to watch all the great games across the country because Jonathan Smith’s Michigan State squad does not play and is on its first bye week.
The Michigan Wolverines will also not play on Saturday as their first bye week also lines up with MSU’s.

Does Michigan State football play today?
No. The bye is coming at a perfect time for the Spartans after they started the season 3-0 before dropping three straight games to Boston College, Ohio State and Oregon. That would be a brutal stretch for any team in the country, but was especially tough for a rebuilding Michigan State team that still hasn’t captured its identity. The Spartans will return to the field in Week 8 when they host Iowa at 7:30 p.m. on NBC/Peacock.
