Allegany routs Southern, 51-14; Northern crushes Uniontown; Keyser falls to John Marshall

Oct. 13—OAKLAND — No. 5 Allegany rushed for nearly 500 yards to rout Southern, 51-14, Friday for its second win in three games.

Allegany (2-4) led 20-0 after the first quarter, 20-7 at the half and 34-7 after three periods.

The Campers rushed for 481 yards on 52 carries, had a 24-7 edge in first downs, 476-99 advantage in total yards and didn’t punt once.

Allegany rushed for three touchdowns in the first quarter: Sebastian Stewart from five yards out (7:14), Jackson Resh on a 44-yard burst (5:24) and Kane Williams on a nine-yard tote (1:24).

Williams’ touchdown was set up by an Amanni Blowe fumble recovery.

The Campers missed their first PAT, failed a two-point try after its second score and Khiante Bible ran in the two-point try on its third.

Southern (2-4) got on the scoreboard when Jacob Brown connected with Joel Campbell for a five-yard touchdown pass with 2:37 left in the half to trail 20-7.

Resh picked up his second touchdown on a 16-yard run with 6:30 left in the third quarter, and Williams found his second, also from 16 yards out, with 50 second left before fourth.

Allegany failed the first two-point try of the second half and Bible ran in the second.

After Southern’s Ty Getson ran for a four-yard score followed by Ben Lohr’s second PAT with 11:12 to play in the fourth, Bible tallied his first touchdown from five yards out with 8:33 left. Resh ran in the conversion.

Allegany then forced a Soutern safety, and the Campers’ DJ Riley capped the scoring with a nine-yard TD run with a minute to play. Trevin Cox made the PAT.

Ryan Ferguson intercepted an Allegany pass to lead the Southern defense.

Next week, Allegany is at No. 4 Keyser (3-3) and Southern is at Tucker County (6-0).
